Actor Josh Cooke & Musician Eleisha Eagle had a small, intimate ceremony in Elk, CA and a reception dinner in Mendocino. Perfectly warm and sweet with only 6 guests- their direct family. You may recognize Josh from his roles on I Love You, Man (I’ve seen it 5 times!) and Better With You, amongst others… also look out for Josh on the next season of Dexter! And Eleisha’s pretty music– she’s such a tiny and sweet little lady that makes such big and beautiful sounds. Thanks you for taking such good care of me, beauties! And for introducing me to Mendocino… it’s heaven…

Ceremony: Blessed Sacrament Church in Elk, CA
Dinner: MacCallum House in Mendocino, CA
Bride’s Dress: Monique Lhullier “Magical” dress
Groom’s Suit: Ermenegildo Zegna “Centennial” suit, handmade shirt by Anto of Los Angeles.

Also, I stayed in a suite at The Mendocino Hotel and I highly recommend it: gorgeous Victorian hotel with excellent wine : )

This wedding is featured on Green Wedding Shoes today!! TONS more photos and info from the bride here.
AND another feature on The City Sage! (Anne Sage & the beautiful singing boys of A B & The Sea just spent the weekend over here for a double-shoot with me… Pics from all that coming soon!)

I love the hell outta backyard weddings, they’re my favorite.
They always feel so warm and familial. Leanne & Nate did almost everything themselves to make this such a perfect, personable & colorful event. We’ve become friends since I shot their engagement session a couple years ago- I love those two so much… Kristin and I ended up hanging out for like 3 hrs after we were done shooting their wedding- super fun times. And we gave Leanne & Nate a ride back to the hotel afterwards, because, let’s just say they “forgot” to plan on a ride home ; ) t’was an honor! Also there where chickens at this wedding, and if you see my previous post from the Hawaii wedding I shot, there where pretty horses. And soon I will be posting a wedding that not only had Llamas, but also a petting zoo of cute baby animals… it’s like my clients are reading my mind…

venue: Martin Farms- Private home / event design: bride & groom / floral design: bouquets by Petal Pusher AZ, center pieces and other flowers put together by friends and bride, boutineers made by bride / vintage wedding dress: etsy: orange on broadway / hairpieces: brides hairpiece made by bride / shoes: Steve Madden / bridesmaid dresses: modclothforever 21target / hair + makeup: hair by Sondra Bohanna of Saints & Scissors Salon– Scottsdale, make up by Morgan Gates (also a lovely bridesmaid) / groom suit: / cinematography: John David Moffat / invitations+ paper goods: designed by groom, paper from Kelly Paper / catering: amici catering / cake: made by our friend Emily / music: ceremony music by Kevin Betz & Kelly Ehley of Lost in The Sun / reception DJ JC Lenz (friend)

(shot on digital with some Holga)

I read what Leanne sent over to Green Wedding Shoes for our feature today- and got all weepy when I saw:  “Most memorable moment of your wedding day? There were so many great moments, but one definitely sticks out… After finishing up photos of my attire after the ceremony, Noa (of Feather Love Photography) and I were walking into the back yard when she stopped me and said, “You need to just stop and look around and realize you are having the best f***ing wedding”. I took this as such a great compliment! To have a photographer of Noa’s caliber, whom has the privilege to shoot the absolute best weddings, recognize the two years of hard work, was beyond fulfillment. It’s also quite possible I wouldn’t have stopped to appreciate that hard work. Thanks, Noa!”  … <3 U!!!!!

You might already know how I feel about matching bridesmaid dresses, I love that these ladies did their own thing, in their own styles…

And ditto for the dudes.

A couple of Holga shots below…

Mami & Joe’s Japanese-Hawaiian wedding at Sunset Ranch in North Shore, Oahu.
What can I say that isn’t clearly obvious- Hawaii is gorgeous. I will post some photos soon from our trip and where we stayed etc. But in the meantime, Sunset Ranch was gorgeous- we had a Hawaiian drizzle that became a Hawaiian downpoar, a double rainbow over the ceremony, and a multicultural event that was absolutely amazing- complete with traditional Hawaiian dances, as well as Japanese dances I had never seen before, incredible food, and the most beautiful view… Apparently North Shore, Oahu is also where the show Lost was filmed.

This wedding also got an incredible feature on Style Me Pretty today, with tons of info from the bride and a HUGE gallery of images, go to Style Me Pretty to see more.
We also got an excellent feature on The Wedding Channel! You can view that here.

Location: Sunset Ranch. Haleiwa, Oahu.
Bridal Gowns: Princess Kaiulani Fashions and John Galliano
Entertainment: Halau Ke Kiai A O Hula
Catering: Gourmet Events Hawaii

Mami looks absolutely beautiful (as usual lol) but you captured her grace as well. I remember distinctly how light and refreshing the rain felt during the ceremony. How amazing to have these pictures to remember the moment as well.

Very excited to be in print in Brides Southern California Magazine for the Fall/Winter edition – Page. 194– featuring one of my photos from Michael & Tim’s wedding.

Today is my birthday. I have had a phenomenal year in so many ways: I travel and shoot all the time and couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect than that. My clients are so rad that they have all become my dear friends. I do what I love and am surrounded by people that I love. Thanks so much for following my blog and my work, it really means so much to me. I have lots of stuff to accomplish over the next year that I am so excited about… I have to say that my 34 years on this weird planet has been totally amazing.

I’m so stoked to share my birthday with another fantastic thing that’s happening today for my beautiful and dear friend Sarah Sanguin Carter:  Steven Speilberg’s TNT show Falling Skies premiers tonight! Sarah stars in this show and I’m so excited to see it. You may also recognize Sarah from other television shows including starring roles on: Dirty Sexy Money, Entourage, Shark, Numbers, CSI NY, Judd Apatow’s Undeclared, Smallville, & Confessions… and some of her studio films include The Vow, Final Destination II, and several independent features like Haven, Berkley, and Killing Zelda Sparks

Her website:
Sarah is a multi-talented Artist who is also happens to be an incredible musician – check out her band Sanguindrake and her myspace.
And see her shoot in the most recent issue of Esquire here!

I got to spend an incredible week with Sarah and my other beautiful friend Alexandra Fulton, (who I went to an awesome hippie high school with) in Santa Fe (my other home) earlier this year, photos from that trip coming to my blog soon!

Sarah asked me to do a shoot with her, and so I did… I can honestly say that besides being a total knockout- stunning, sexy, and so so pretty- she has the same qualities on the inside as she does on the outside. She is simply a fascinating, beautiful & talented person.

This session at her home was shot on 35mm film, Holga, Polaroid & digital…
Styling by my good friend Amanda Suter & myself. Makeup by Amanda Suter.

Watch the Premier of Falling Skies on TNT tonight!
